Dr. Samidurai is a no-gap provider for all privately insured patient procedures performed at Caloundra Private Day Hospital, meaning there are no out-of-pocket expenses to the doctor, for insured, eligible patients undergoing procedures at this facility.
For in-room consultations, fees are Medicare rebatable for all patients eligible under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS). Any out-of-pocket costs incurred from consultations will count towards your Extended Medicare Safety Net (EMSN) threshold, potentially reducing your future healthcare expenses.
Our consultation fees are structured in accordance with the Australian Medical Association (AMA) guidelines and are comparable to the national average for specialist medical appointments with a gastroenterologist.
Please contact our reception team if you have any questions about billing, rebates, or eligibility.
Initial Consultation $260 (Medicare rebate $151.90) *includes colonoscopy kit if required
Review Consultation $170 (Medicare rebate $76.00)
GOLD DVA Bulk Billed (Colonoscopy Kit fee waived)
$40
For procedures, there are three fees to consider: the Doctors fee (MBS fee), the Anaesthetist's fee (MBS fee), and the hospital fee. A $200 deposit is required upfront in order to secure your booking for the procedure. For more details about these privately paying fees for uninsured patients, please contact our clinic directly.
At Caloundra Gastroenterology, patient safety and quality of care are our top priorities.
When an emergency or urgent script is requested without a consultation, a private administration fee applies. This fee is not claimable through Medicare, as it covers the additional clinical and administrative work required outside a standard business hours. Please call the practice for further details.
